THE VOICE STUDIO
Robert McFarland has taught singers for over 40 years and his Artists are of the finest caliber. The students of "The Voice Studio" go on to careers of their own either in vocal performance or in teaching voice. Students of Robert McFarland have achieved accomplishments which are extraordinary in winning competitions worldwide. Learning his technique will ensure years of performing well without damage to your vocal instrument. References are available and Robert McFarland students will gladly share their experiences with you as their teacher. Serious inquiries only.

NEW YORK OPERA WORKSHOP
The New York Opera Workshop is an intensive four-week training program designed for advanced singers who needs and want to perform a specific principal role.
Singers will receive during these four weeks:

Vocal training

Diction (opera original language)

Musical Coaching

Dramatic training
-
Body Movement
-
Makeup workshop
-
Master classes (depending the opera)
-
Gently Healing Therapies Workshop (includes yoga and other techniques)
Each artist will perform a principal role in a complete opera.
Operas will be performed with piano in its original language and original "Mise en scène". All productions will include some sets, props, costumes & make-up.
All Performances will be offered to the public after the four-week training period at a venue easily accessible in New York.

ROLE PREPARATION COACHING
The role preparation program is focused on exploring and developing the character of a complete role through the historic and musical setting of the work, understanding recitative, analyzing your translation of the text, and learning the psychology of and circumstances that involves the character.
Also this includes:

Preparing word for word translations

Researching the literary and historical backgrounds of the operas and their characters in detail

Exploring the character's psychological motivations and inner lives
-
Developing the physicality and dramatic style appropriate to their role

Refining and grasping of the specific musical style of the opera
NOTE: There is no teaching of vocal technique.
